IEEE Global Conference on the Internet of Things (2019 IEEE GCIOT) aims to provide a forum for researchers -from both academia and industry- to share their latest research contributions, and exchange knowledge with the common goal of shaping the future of IoT and smart sustainable cities.
The GCIoT 2017 and 2018 were held at the Bibliotheca Alexandrina, welcoming more than 850 attendees, tens of keynote speeches and discussion panels with plenty of international speakers, attendees, and moderators, establishing the conference as a success and the region’s foremost forum for IoT innovation. The GCIoT 2017 and 2018 included keynote speeches, discussion panels, and technical sessions.
2019 IEEE GCIoT will continue the success of its predecessors. This year’s program will include paper presentations, poster sessions and project demonstrations, along with prominent keynote speakers and industrial and government-focused workshops. Three tracks will be discussed in the conference: the technical, governmental, and industrial. The industrial track will include a one-day focused Industry summit. 2019 IEEE GCIoT is sponsored by the IEEE Technology and Engineering Management Society (TEMS), IEEE Communication Society IoT committee, IEEE R8, IEEE UAE Section, Dubai University, Zayed University, 5G world Alliance, IPV6, Bog Al Arab Innovation cluster and National Telecommunications Regulatory Authority (NTRA). After extensive peer review, the best of the proposals will be selected for the conference program, which will include technical papers, tutorials, workshops and industry sessions designed specifically to advance IoT technologies, systems, and infrastructure that are continuing to reshape the world and make our cities smarter and more sustainable. This 3-day event will include several keynote speeches by distinguished speakers from industrial, academic and government domains. It will also hold panels, forums, technical sessions featuring papers that were extensively reviewed by peers, workshops focusing on the latest trends in various IoT-related technologies, tutorials delivered by experts in the respective disciplines, exhibits, and, finally, a relaxing and entertaining banquet.
The terminology “Internet of Things” creates a vision of a world where everything is connected, from people to machines to entire enterprises and plants. It is all for the greater good of improving people’s lives, and making the planet a more convenient place to live in.
The Global Conference on the IoT (2019 IEEE GCIoT) is intended to help our brilliant participants, researchers and professionals to share experiences and discuss up-to-the minute information and technological facts. The conference brings the latest research relevant to the IoT, including a wide-ranged program of presentations, project showcasing and outstanding innovations that serve the community and help it move in the same direction the world is taking towards establishing “A More Connected World”.
The theme of the conference is “Smart Sustainable Cities”, in recognition of the ongoing development in the MENA region that focuses on the deployment of “smart” technologies, operating principles, and policies.
“A Smart Sustainable City (SSC) is an innovative city that uses Information and Communication Technologies (ICTs) and other means to improve the quality of life, efficiency of urban operations and services, and competitiveness, while ensuring that it meets the needs of present and future generations with respect to economic, social and environmental aspects.” ~ITU
The theme also highlights the importance of IoT technologies in making Smart Sustainable Cities applications a reality. All the projects, papers, posters, presentations, and events at the conference are focused on contributing to nurture, cultivate, and accelerate the adoption of IoT technologies and applications to benefit society.
Three full days of original paper presentations, tutorials, workshops, keynotes, demonstrations, industry sessions and social events designed to further career opportunities, and the in-depth understanding of the latest IoT advancements worldwide.
